What is 5G?
5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It enables a new kind of network that is designed to intelligently connect everyone and everything together, including machines, objects, and devices. Check out Qualcomm’s “What is 5G?” page to learn more about the 5G revolution.

How fast is 5G?
5G gives us the fastest wireless speeds we have ever experienced, with speeds up to 10x faster than 4G. 5G allows us to browse the web faster than ever before and even stream 8K video. How does 5G Work?
This is not a question we can answer in just a couple sentences. 5G is possible because of technological advancements in network architecture like massive-MIMO and 3D beamforming, broadband capabilities across many new frequency bands of operation, and so much more. What frequency is 5G?
5G operates in multiple frequency bands primarily across two frequency ranges: bands below 7GHz, called “sub-7” and referred to as FR1; and bands between 24GHz and 52GHz, like 28 and 39 GHz, called FR2 or “millimeter wave” (“mmWave” for short). The bands 5G uses in your region largely depends on the type of spectrum that was made available to 5G by your local authorities (e.g. FCC). What is the difference between 4G and 5G?
While there are many differences between 4G and 5G, one of the main differences you will notice as a wireless user is the speed of 5G. In fact, 5G has 100x as much capacity as 4G and allows for much faster streaming and an overall better web experience. In particular, 5G introduces massive MIMO and beamforming techniques to improve both spectral efficiency and system capacity. What is covered in wireless technology training?
The depth of a wireless technology training course depends on the goal of the course. While some courses offer a broader overview of 5G and wireless communication, others dive deep into a single topic. The Qualcomm Wireless Academy offers a variety of overview courses, as well as dozens of in-depth training seminars that can help you enhance your wireless skills and take your career to the next level. What do I need to do to become a wireless engineer?
Since there are different types of wireless engineers, what you must do depends on what exactly you want to focus on for your career. In general, though, wireless engineers typically have at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar quantitative field, while many have a master’s degree or PhD as well. In many cases, one can become a wireless technician, though, by receiving an associate degree in engineering or computer science.

Regardless of whether you’re looking to become a wireless engineer or technician, you can expand your wireless skills by taking specialized courses with wireless technology leaders, such as Qualcomm Technologies. What does a typical wireless engineer do?
Being a “wireless engineer” could involve a variety of different tasks, depending on your focus. Some wireless engineers build the technology that powers 5G; some are responsible for ensuring the stability of internet connections in a given area; some are responsible for fixing connectivity issues; and many perform dozens of other tasks associated with wireless communication.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Do you accept purchase orders or wire payments?

Do I get a course book with the purchase of e-learning?
No. The course material is embedded within the e-learning product and is easily navigated and referenced as needed.

What minimum connection speed do you support?
Although the video content may work with a slower connection we recommend that you have a DSL, Cable Modem, or T1 connection to the internet or faster.
